The Grief Support and Education Charitable Trust (Grief Centre) is a Registered Charity established to assist and support those affected by grief and loss. We have a variety of services including:
In addition to these services, we have a supply of the excellent New Zealand produced Skylight publications for sale at the centre. These are a great resource for a range of grief and loss issues, and are particularly useful for issues relating to children and young people. Check out our webite or call the Centre for more details.  Upcoming event: Coping with the grief and loss associated with illness, death and dying: New Zealand children’s experiencesPresenter: Fiona Pienaar Friday March 12, 1.30-3.30pm at The Grief Centre.  Fiona is a lecturer on the Counselling programme in the Faculty of Education at the University of Auckland, and recently submitted her PhD. Her recent study explored NZ children’s experiences of stress and coping in their lives. This presentation looks particularly at those stressors which relate to loss and grief connected to illness, death and dying. In particular the coping strategies that children employ will be presented for discussion.  The presentation will be followed by tea, coffee and nibbles, and a meeting of Auckland NALAG members (National Association of Loss and Grief).  A koha to cover costs would be appreciated. RSVP to Carol at The Grief Centre.  For details, contact: Carol Blair | Centre Manager |
