North Shore Community and Social Services Inc. is a co-ordinating council for community groups that aims to enhance and promote the community development process and, empower community groups to better serve their communities.

 

The North Shore Community and Social Services was formed in 1972 and incorporated in 1975.   It is one of 55 Councils of Social Service affiliated to the New Zealand Council of Social Service .

 

Our mission statement is

Empowering community groups to serve their communities”

 

Our objectives are:

Community Development

Assisting groups with daily challenges such as strategic planning, employment related issues, funding issues and networking

 

Information and Publications

We publish around 35 Community Resource books providing information and guidance to improve the daily management and promotion of community groups and organisations.

 

Workshops and Training Seminars

We organise and run seminars throughout the Auckland Region on community management issues such as Funding, Planning, Management , Volunteer Management and Legal Issues.
