Every year North Shore individuals and groups are nominated by members of the community for their outstanding voluntary contributions in a variety of categories.  These nominations are reviewed by a selection panel and Civic Awards are presented to the most deserving nominations at an awards ceremony.

The North Shore City Civic Awards held during 2010 will be the last Civic Awards before North Shore’s amalgamation into the wider Auckland region. To ensure our local heroes are properly recognised, this year’s awards will recognise voluntary contributions for both the 2009 and 2010 years.

There will also be an increased number of awards and a few new categories. A new award called 'Companions of North Shore City' is being introduced, for those residing outside of the city boundaries, who have provided an outstanding service for the benefit of the wider North Shore community.

North Shore City Council encourages you to nominate the unsung heroes in your community to help give them the recognition they deserve.  Nominations are open from Monday 10 May until Friday 25 June.
